FINAL WORDS

So, here’s a question: If you had to give the last words that you’ll ever give to those closest to you, what would they be?

Whatever those words were, those to whom you gave them would never forget them.  Your last words would forever be seared into the hearts and minds of those you love.

Have you ever thought about the last words recorded in the Bible that Jesus left for us?  They are five simple words that make up one of the most powerful promises that our Messiah could have ever given to us!  It’s a promise that should be seared into the hearts and minds of every believer in Yeshua!  Jesus promised us in Revelation 22:20, “Yes, I am coming soon.”

If there has ever been a time for us to remember these five simple yet powerful words, it’s now!

OUR HOPE

The Bible is very clear that ever since Adam and Eve fell in the Garden, the earth and everything tied to it has been “subjected to frustration” and under the “bondage to decay”And no matter how hard he tries, man will never be able to fix the problem.  In fact, the earth, the world, and everything in it will continue to unravel and continue to get worse.  Life in the world as we know it, according to the Scriptures, was never meant to continue on forever.  Eventually, the Bible says, GOD will make “new heavens and a new earth”, which will become our new “home of righteousness”.   The good news is that even though man can never fix what was broken in the earth, GOD, in HIS Great Mercy has made a Way out!  And that Way is only found in the Blood of HIS Son Jesus, The Christ!

Titus 2:13 says, “while we wait for our blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”  Right now there seems to be such a lack of hope, not just in the world but also in the Church.  When the Bride loses sight of those five very simple yet powerful words, she loses sight of her hope!  Our hope is not in the next “whatever” we can come up with to make this a better place.  Our hope is in the return of our King!

1 John 3 tells us that, “all who have this hope in them will purify themselves.”  What hope is John referring to?  He’s referring to the hope in His Return!  Right now, we are watching Jesus’s words unfold right in front of us.  Wickedness is increasing all over the earth.  The love of most is growing cold.  And the very things that Jesus tells us to look for at our redemption are literally happening right in front of us.

“The anxieties of life”, as Jesus said, are absolutely wearing people out.  This is not a time for the Church to sell everything that we own and wait on the mountain for Jesus to come back.  It’s not time for us to hide out with an arsenal of guns and food.

OUR CALLING

It’s time for us to recognize who we are.  We are the Menorah in Revelation 2 and 3.  We are the “salt of the earth and the light of the world”.  This is when we stand to our feet and finish the work that Jesus commanded us to finish!

This is the heart of Lampstand Ministries- is to simply be “the salt of the earth” and “the light of the world” as we eagerly await the return of our King!
